When we say that something is “environmentally friendly”, it’s important to remember that humans make up a large part of our environment. What’s harmful to our water, air, soil, and animals is likely also harmful to our bodies.

Makeup Health Crisis
In the U.S. today, hundreds of chemicals are still being used in the cosmetics industry which are known to create health issues in humans, including allergies, hormone disruptions and certain forms of cancer to name a few. And as if that’s not enough, these chemicals can build up in the environment or get passed on to future generations from mother to child during pregnancy.
The Environmental Working Group tested 10 fetal blood samples, revealing an average of 200 known industrial pollutants in each sample (CNN.com, Feb. 2014). U.S. consumers are at a particularly greater risk since we are the only industrialized country in the world that still allows the use of these chemical ingredients.
