Is Your Makeup 'Green'?

Eco friendly makeup, or 'green' makeup, seems to be everywhere these days. But how do you know if your makeup is really eco-friendly? Look for talc, bismuth and any ingredient containing 'paraben' (we know, some are hard to pronounce!). Also, avoid so-called 'natural' cosmetics made with cheap fillers. If water is the first ingredient, you may not be getting a good value.

When it comes to ingredients, less is more.

Always read the labels. The fewer ingredients, the better! If you're not sure about something, look it up on Skin Deep, an index of cosmetic safety and consumer awareness hosted by the Environmental Working Group.
